Church Farm School is an independent boarding and day school for boys in grades 9-12 in the Episcopal tradition, located in Exton, PA. It participates in the 403(b) plan and offers medical, dental, life insurance, and other benefits. Housing is provided in a semi‑furnished suite or apartment. Meals are included during the school year.

Position Overview

CFS seeks personable and highly responsible adults with a passion for mentoring teenage boys of diverse races and ethnicities to serve as a House Supervisor. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four‑year college or university, preferably in a social‑service field (education, social work, counseling, sociology, psychology, adolescent development, etc.) and possess a valid, active driver’s license. Alumni of CFS are welcomed to apply.

This salaried, professional, live‑in position includes housing. Primary responsibilities include supervising, supporting and developing up to 16 boys in a cottage‑style dormitory for two full nights/overnights per week (4:00 p.m. – 9:00 a.m.), one affiliate shift per week (6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.) and every other weekend (4:00 p.m. Friday – 9:00 a.m. Monday). Additional duties such as teaching, subbing, coaching, advising, driving scholars to appointments and/or providing administrative support may be added based on school needs and candidate experience.

Accountability
  • Reports to the Dean of Residential Life.
  • Accountability to the Head of School and the school administration through the Director of Student Life.
  • Accountability to students, faculty and staff, parents/guardians and alumni.
  • Accountability to the CFS mission and core values (respect, responsibility, integrity, and brotherhood).
Responsibility to Students
  • Follow the House Supervisor daily checklist and adhere to all safety expectations.
  • Mentor all students and guide senior leaders, especially your cottage prefect. Establish active engagement with all scholars.
  • Be present, on‑time, focused and responsible when on duty.
  • Support the school’s Social Emotional Learning (SEL)/Life Skills programming by teaching/facilitating lessons and discussions as needed.
  • Aid students in academic success by helping develop organizational and study skills during evening study hours.
  • Encourage appreciation and respect for difference among individuals.
  • Support spiritual development via the Chapel program.
  • Promote self‑discipline and responsible decision‑making among students.
Responsibility to Parents/Guardians
  • Develop strong, honest relationships with parents or guardians.
  • Maintain regular communication through phone calls, emails, text messages, report‑card comments and in‑person interactions.
Responsibility to Your Cottage and the Head House Supervisor
  • Treat the cottage as your home and instill that pride in residents. Maintain cleanliness of common areas and student rooms.
  • Keep accurate cottage logs, records and other reporting requirements.
  • Mirror and uphold the house policies and behavioral expectations established by the Head House Supervisor.
Responsibility to the Residential Life Faculty and the Student Life Program
  • Actively support the SWAT, Administrator on Duty (AOD), and dispatcher on duty weekends.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings and residential or student life activities.
  • Be present at school meals when on duty and assist in dining center management.
  • Understand your influence extends beyond your cottage.
Responsibility to the School, Faculty, and Staff
  • Maintain hospitable relationships with all members of the community.
  • Communicate effectively with students, adults, and parents.
  • Check email, text messages and school mailbox regularly to stay informed and respond promptly.
  • Promote community, collegiality, and cooperation.
  • Attend all scheduled residential faculty meetings, school in.services, and community events.
Responsibility to Self
  • Maintain physical and mental health and utilize available resources.
  • Seek professional development opportunities to sharpen skills and grow awareness.
