Position Summary:

Under the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO), the House Supervisor performs various functions to ensure the optimal delivery of patient care services. This position ensures that established policies and procedures are followed to deliver quality patient care and reports any care variances promptly. In the absence of the CCO, this role assumes full responsibility for hospital and patient care.

Job-specific Responsibilities:

• Ensure adequate staffing levels to provide safe patient care while meeting productivity guidelines.
• Serve as a patient advocate with compassion and empathy.
• Collaborate with clinical and ancillary departments to resolve issues and improve workflows.
• Practice infection control and isolation techniques to maintain safety.
• Understand the legal implications of documentation.
• Initiate emergency measures (CPR, ACLS, PALS, SAMA) to stabilize patients.
• Report abnormal test results promptly and triage activities accordingly.
• Act as a clinical resource for staff.
• Participate in counseling, coaching, and evaluating nursing personnel.
• Supervise staff according to policies, procedures, and laws.
• Report operational variances to administration.
• Address and resolve concerns from staff, patients, families, and physicians.
• Support Perception of Care Committee initiatives.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Ensure documentation is completed and audited as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
• Preferred 1 year of hospital/rehabilitation experience.
• Preferred 1 year of experience as House Supervisor.

Certifications:

• Current RN licensure in the state.
• Certified in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and SAMA.
• Obtain TB test within 14 days of employment and annually thereafter.
• Maintain current certifications during employment or obtain within 30 days of hire.
