Job summary

Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading, PA is seeking an experienced RN leader for a PRN, part-time role. The incumbent will supervise hospital personnel on assigned shifts and drive efficient operations with a focus on high-quality patient care.

The position offers shift differentials ($2.00/hour for evenings, $2.50/hour for nights) and is located at St. Joseph Medical Center. Prior leadership experience and active RN licensure are required.

Qualifications

  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment or with a multistate license.
  • BLS certification required prior to end of orientation period.
  • Minimum two years of clinical experience and at least one year in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

  • Exercise delegated administrative responsibility and authority for supervision of all hospital personnel for the assigned shift.
  • Serve as a leader and resource person to facilitate efficient operational activities.
  • Oversee unit operations and coordinate patient care activities as needed.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Exercises delegated administrative responsibility and authority for the supervision of all hospital personnel and functions within the assigned work unit/location for assigned shift. Serves as a leader and resource person in facilitating efficient operational activities throughout the organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S)
  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period.
  • Minimum two (2) years clinical experience.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in a leadership role.
