Education

Overview

Texas Behavioral Health Center — Join our team and help launch the first state psychiatric hospital in Dallas-Fort Worth, where innovative caregivers will make a lasting impact on behavioral health in Texas. The Texas Behavioral Health Center is a newly completed state-funded psychiatric hospital opening in Dallas’ Southwestern Medical District that is owned by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) and operated by UT Southwestern Medical Center. When fully operational, the 505,000-square-foot facility will house 292 beds (200 for adults and 92 for children and adolescents). The hospital will deliver state-of-the-art, patient-centered care in a modern and healing environment, with private patient rooms, abundant natural light and nature, and spaces designed to promote recovery. The center will also provide training to all behavioral health disciplines. Job Title

Hospital Supervisor

Responsibilities

Support clinical, operational and facility services throughout the entire hospital on a 24-hour basis, coordinating operations and personnel activities to meet hospital and health system objectives.
Intervene and problem-solve for inter-/intra-departmental issues, facilitating interdepartmental communication, negotiation and decision-making.
Maintain visibility with hospital staff through rounds.
Organize hospital operations and systems delivering services that meet or exceed regulatory requirements, serving as the administrative and operational resource.
Oversee patient care flow and allocate resources to ensure effective functioning of unit/department; assist Patient Access Services in coordinating patient placement.
Investigate patient/visitor concerns and implement appropriate actions to optimize service satisfaction for patients, families, physicians and staff.
Provide on-site management/leadership of crisis situations to prevent or minimize disruption of services.
Serve as on-site coordinator for internal/external disasters, inclement weather, or other major events.
Collaborate with clinical and support staff to foster delivery of quality care; communicate issues identified by frontline staff to the administrative team and assist staff in identifying clinical experts for patient population concerns.

Qualifications

Required Experience and Education
- Bachelor's degree in nursing, nursing administration, healthcare administration, or a healthcare-related field required.
- Five years of progressive related experience, including five years of progressive, related experience in behavioral health or within a healthcare system that includes behavioral health services.
Preferred
- Master's degree with hospital management experience preferred.
- RN highly preferred.
