Job summary

Thunder Valley Casino in Lincoln, California is seeking a House Person to maintain hotel public and guest room areas to AAA Four Diamond standards on a daily basis. The House Person is responsible for requesting supplies and equipment to keep public and guest areas immaculate, and to respond to guest inquiries with established AAA Four Diamond standards.

The role supports the ELITE service mission, participates in pre-shift briefings, and ensures areas are clean and hazards are reported.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management by telephone and radio.
• Previous House Person experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.

Responsibilities

• Stock and maintain par levels in linen areas.
• Respond to guest inquiries with established service standards.
• Sign for keys, device, and radio daily.
• Inspect for hazards and report to supervision.

The House Person ensures that hotel public and Guest room areas are maintained and cleaned to AAA Four Diamond standards on a daily basis. The House Person is responsible for requesting supplies and equipment to maintain public and Guest room areas.Responds to Guest inquiries with established AAA Four Diamond standards.Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.

Essential Functions:

• Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “ELITE” company-wide service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
• Participate in daily pre-shift meetings outlining activities and expectations to ensure AAA Four Diamond standards achieved and maintained.
• Maintain the cleanliness of all areas assigned including, but not limited to, hallways and public areas.
• Sign for keys, device, and radio daily.
• Check daily for areas needing specific attention, and identify any potential hazards and report them to supervision.
• Check exterior of Guest elevators and tracks to ensure cleanliness including, but limited to, wiping down tables, phones, and other items in the area as needed.
• Be responsible for stripping 50% of rooms per each Guest Room Attendant assigned.
• Stock and maintain par levels in all linen areas.
• Clean and mop all assigned areas, and straighten shelves as required.
• Clean cigarette and trash urns in the Hotel areas as needed.
• Prior to delivery, inspect equipment including, but not limited to, cribs and roll-a-ways. Report items in need of repair or maintenance.
• Pull rooms as assigned, shampoo carpet, and polish marble floors and tables as needed with the appropriate equipment and training.
• Perform scheduled deep cleaning of tile, granite, slate, marble, vinyl, and wood using appropriate cleaning equipment.
• Perform scheduled floor care including honing, buffing, and polishing using appropriate cleaning equipment.
• Perform scheduled carpet care including shampooing, extraction, and spot removal using appropriate cleaning equipment.
• Perform scheduled furniture care including sofa extraction, mattress extraction, polishing, and furniture touch-up using appropriate cleaning equipment.
• Be responsible for cleanup and disposal of human waste that may present biomedical hazards such as vomit, feces, and any blood-borne pathogens, after training and certification from the Company.
• Answer and complete all service calls within designated timeframe.
• Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:

• Previous House Person experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and Management in both written and verbal form by telephone and radio.
• Previous experience working with maintenance equipment, such as pan brooms, vacuums, scrubbers, carpet extractors, and other commercial cleaning equipment is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.

Physical Requirements:

• Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
• Ability to communicate by assigned device and radio.
• Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to move linen carts carrying up to 500 lbs. of wet linens.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and utilize elevators for prolonged time periods.
• Ability to crouch, kneel, push, turn, carry, and pull.
• Ability to inspect items at floor level.
• Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.

Work Conditions:

Work is typically performed in a hotel environment. Work may be conducted in the casino, which may be hot, cold, noisy, and in the presence of secondhand smoke. Tasks may be performed from a non-sitting position. Team Members may be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull and grasp. These tasks include the maintenance and care of an assigned area. Team Member must possess proper safety training in the use of chemicals. Frequent contact with fellow Team Members and Guests is standard.
