Job summary

Michael Dunn Center in Kingston, TN is seeking a dependable House Manager to lead the day-to-day residential operations of our ICF home. This hands-on leadership role focuses on supporting the DSP team and ensuring consistent, high-quality services for the people we support.

Qualifications

• Experience as Direct Support Professional or in residential services.

Responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day leadership for the home and DSPs.

Michael Dunn Center is seeking a dependable, organized, and motivated House Manager to lead the day‑to‑day residential operations of one of our ICF homes.

This is a hands‑on leadership position for someone who understands the importance of great direct support and is ready to take greater responsibility for leading a team, maintaining an organized home, and ensuring consistent, high‑quality services for the people we support.

What You'll Do

As a House Manager, you will provide day‑to‑day leadership for the home and the Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who work there. Responsibilities include:

• Lead, support, and provide day‑to‑day direction to DSPs assigned to the home.
• Set a positive example and help create a dependable, professional, and team‑oriented work environment.
• Help train and orient new DSPs and ensure employees understand the needs, routines, and programs of the people supported.
• Ensure individual programs, active treatment, and established plans are carried out consistently.
• Monitor required documentation for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
• Help coordinate staffing and communicate scheduling and coverage needs.
• Monitor attendance, performance, and completion of assigned responsibilities.
• Maintain regular communication with supervisors, nursing, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Coordinate the day‑to‑day needs of the home, including groceries, supplies, transportation, appointments, activities, and household responsibilities.
• Help ensure the home remains clean, safe, organized, and welcoming.
• Identify concerns and communicate or elevate issues promptly.
• Help maintain compliance with Michael Dunn Center policies, ICF requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Participate in meetings, training, inspections, and other activities related to the operation of the home.
• Provide direct support and assist with coverage when needed.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience as a Direct Support Professional or in residential services.
• Experience supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to coach employees and address concerns professionally.
• Ability to work effectively with nursing and other members of an interdisciplinary team.
• Comfort with documentation, computers, and basic administrative responsibilities.
• Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with hands‑on support.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

A successful ICF home needs more than adequate staffing. It needs someone who takes ownership of the home, supports the DSP team, communicates effectively, notices when something needs attention, and follows through.
