Job summary

Partnership for Families, Children and Adults is seeking a dedicated shelter team member to manage evening operations, conduct client intakes, and uphold a trauma-informed care approach for survivors.

Responsibilities include inventory, client orientation, room assignments, and coordinating with on-call staff as situations arise. Strong teamwork, confidentiality, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a social services field.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member with people of various backgrounds.
  • Conflict resolution and/or crisis intervention skills.
  • Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in maintaining, organizing, and disseminating house management’s supply inventories (i.e., food, clothing, linens, etc.) and follows established donation protocol and document distribution procedures.
  • Complete intakes, gives clients an orientation of the shelter, advises clients of their rights and responsibilities, and ensures clients are comfortable in their room.
  • Practices appropriate interventions when client situations occur and calls on-call supervisor for back up if needed.
  • Maintains a clean and healthy service environment inside and outside of the building including, but not limited to, cleaning vacated rooms, pulling trash, washing linens and dishes, cleaning kid areas throughout the shelter, and other shelter related tasks/responsibilities as needed. May also sort donations if time allows/is necessary.
  • Adheres to trauma informed care practice approach and other applicable evidence-based models in service delivery.
  • Ensures confidentiality of information related to clients, personnel and other information of confidential nature.
  • Performs other duties related to this position as determined necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Relevant experience in a social services field (3-5 years preferred).
