Job summary

Dungarvin is seeking a Program Director to coordinate and manage operations of assigned residential programs, supervising DD/IDD and behavioral programs in AFHs. The role typically covers 2-4 sites with 10-12 direct reports across programs.

The ideal candidate has prior supervisory experience with adults with disabilities and challenging behaviors, crisis management, and behavioral interventions. It blends admin duties with direct care responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or related field.
  • 2+ years of managerial/supervisory experience.
  • At least 1 year direct experience with individuals with developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities.

  • Oversee all aspects of assigned group homes.
  • Develop, maintain, and review ISPs, BSPs, or IPPs.
  • Partner with families, case managers, and other stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Manage household and individual budgets.
  • Provide thorough, complete, and timely on-site orientation to new staff.
  • Directly train employees in all areas of program implementation.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and development of all employees.
  • Complete employee evaluations and initiate disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Schedule and lead team meetings.

Job Description
What You Get to Do

As a Program Director at Dungarvin, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the operations of the assigned residential programs, supervising traditional DD/IDD programs as well as behavioral programs in certified Adult Family Homes (AFH). The Program Director is typically responsible for a caseload of approximately 2-4 adult residential program sites, with 1-4 residents per home and 10-12 direct reports per program (depending on the programs).

The ideal candidate will have previous experience supervising staff and working with adults with disabilities and challenging behaviors, as well as with those requiring crisis management and behavioral interventions. This position is a mixture of admin and direct care duties.

Duties include but are not limited to
  • Oversee all aspects of assigned group homes

  • Partner with families, case managers, and other stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Manage household and individual budgets
  • Provide thorough, complete, and timely on-site orientation to new staff

  • Complete employee evaluations, conduct investigations, and initiate disciplinary actions and terminations, as needed
  • Schedule and lead team meetings
  • Develop and implement employee schedules
Work Environment and Office Hours

This position is in-office, providing site supervision for direct care staff. This role involves typical office hours, Monday through Friday, full-time. Additionally, the Program Director must have a flexible schedule with the ability to be on-call during the on-call rotation (this includes weekends and odd hours).

Qualifications
What Makes You A Great Fit
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Behavioral Science or related field is preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years managerial/supervisory experience, including hiring, disciplining, and terminating employees
  • At least 1 year of full-time, direct experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities
  • Experience with mental health preferred
  • A successful background clearance is required as part of the onboarding/employment process
  • A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle with auto insurance are required
  • Must demonstrate good decision-making, time management and communication skills, and be responsible, mature, and flexible
