Job summary

M Social Sunnyvale, part of Millennium Hotels & Resorts, is hiring a House Attendant to maintain the cleanliness and presentation of public areas and support the housekeeping team.

You will move linens and supplies, assist with guest requests, and help ensure every space reflects our vibrant, guest‑focused standards, contributing to a welcoming, safe, and well‑kept hotel environment.

Qualifications

  • Previous housekeeping or related experience preferred.

About the Role:

As our House Attendant, you will help maintain the cleanliness, presentation, and overall appearance of M Social Sunnyvale. You will support the Housekeeping team by maintaining public areas, assisting with guest room and housekeeping needs, transporting supplies and linens, and ensuring the hotel consistently meets our high standards of cleanliness and presentation.

Working throughout the hotel, you will be an important part of creating an environment that feels welcoming, vibrant, and cared for. Your attention to detail, responsiveness, and willingness to help will directly contribute to the guest experience.

This role is ideal for a dependable, energetic, and service-minded team member who takes pride in their surroundings and enjoys being part of a team that keeps the hotel moving.

Your Impact – Keeping M Social Looking Its Best

You will help ensure every area of the hotel is clean, organized, polished, and ready for our guests. From maintaining high‑traffic public spaces to supporting Housekeeping with linens, supplies, and guest requests, your work helps create the environment guests see, experience, and remember.

What You'll Be Doing

Public Area Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Clean and maintain hotel public areas, including lobbies, corridors, elevators, restrooms, stairways, meeting spaces, and other assigned areas
  • Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, polish, and sanitize surfaces according to hotel standards
  • Clean glass, mirrors, fixtures, furniture, and other public area surfaces
  • Maintain cleanliness of high‑traffic areas throughout the day
  • Empty trash and replace liners in designated areas
  • Keep public spaces neat, organized, and free of debris
  • Monitor public areas for cleanliness, appearance, and safety
  • Report maintenance issues, damaged furniture, lighting concerns, spills, or other conditions requiring attention
  • Assist with deep cleaning projects and special cleaning assignments as needed
  • Ensure cleaning equipment and supplies are properly stored after use

Housekeeping Support

  • Support Room Attendants and Housekeeping leadership with daily operational needs
  • Deliver linens, towels, amenities, supplies, and other items to guest rooms and housekeeping areas
  • Collect and transport soiled linens and towels to designated areas
  • Assist with stocking housekeeping closets and service areas
  • Help maintain organized and properly stocked housekeeping supply areas
  • Assist with moving furniture, rollaway beds, cribs, luggage, and other items as needed
  • Respond to housekeeping‑related guest requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Assist Room Attendants with additional tasks as directed
  • Support room readiness and turnover efforts during high‑occupancy periods
  • Assist with special projects, seasonal cleaning, and hotel events as needed

Guest Service

  • Greet and acknowledge guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner
  • Respond to guest requests and questions or connect guests with the appropriate department
  • Maintain a positive and approachable presence throughout the hotel
  • Assist guests when appropriate while maintaining awareness of assigned responsibilities
  • Respect guest privacy and follow proper procedures when working near or inside guest rooms
  • Communicate guest concerns or service requests to the appropriate department
  • Demonstrate a solutions‑oriented and helpful approach to guest interactions
  • Recognize that every interaction is an opportunity to create a positive guest experience

Safety & Cleanliness

  • Follow all hotel safety, sanitation, and housekeeping policies and procedures
  • Use cleaning chemicals and equipment according to manufacturer instructions and hotel standards
  • Properly use required personal protective equipment
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
  • Place appropriate signage around wet floors and other potential hazards
  • Immediately report spills, hazards, damaged equipment, or unsafe conditions
  • Follow proper procedures for handling, storing, and disposing of cleaning chemicals
  • Maintain awareness of guest and employee safety while performing cleaning duties
  • Follow applicable OSHA, health, safety, and sanitation requirements
  • Support the hotel's emergency and safety procedures as directed

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Executive Housekeeper, Housekeeping Supervisors, Room Attendants, and other Housekeeping team members
  • Communicate guest requests, maintenance concerns, and operational issues promptly
  • Coordinate with Front Office and other departments to support guest needs
  • Assist team members during high‑volume periods and when additional support is needed
  • Maintain a positive, respectful, and collaborative work environment
  • Support cross‑departmental needs when appropriate
  • Contribute to a team culture where everyone takes ownership and helps one another

Supplies, Equipment & Organization

  • Properly use and maintain vacuums, carts, cleaning equipment, and other housekeeping tools
  • Monitor cleaning supplies, linens, towels, and amenities
  • Report low inventory or supply needs to the appropriate supervisor
  • Keep housekeeping closets, carts, and storage areas clean and organized
  • Ensure supplies are properly stored and readily available
  • Assist with receiving, organizing, and distributing housekeeping supplies
  • Maintain housekeeping equipment in clean and working condition
  • Follow proper procedures for reporting damaged or malfunctioning equipment

Role‑Specific Requirements

  • Previous housekeeping, hotel, janitorial, cleaning, or related experience preferred
  • Previous hospitality experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitation procedures preferred
  • Familiarity with commercial cleaning equipment and supplies preferred
  • Ability to safely use vacuums, mops, cleaning carts, and other housekeeping equipment
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a full‑service hotel or resort
  • Previous House Attendant, Public Area Attendant, Room Attendant, or Housekeeping experience
  • Experience working in a high‑volume hospitality environment
  • Knowledge of hotel housekeeping standards and procedures
  • Experience working with commercial cleaning equipment
  • Familiarity with hotel guest service standards
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach frequently
  • Ability to push and pull housekeeping carts and equipment
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely transport linens, supplies, equipment, and other items throughout the hotel
  • Ability to perform repetitive cleaning and physical tasks
  • Ability to work on feet for extended periods
