Burton Center is seeking a dedicated House Assistant to support adults 21+ with disabilities across three homes. The role is full-time, first shift, Monday–Friday 8:00am–5:00pm with on-call hours as needed.

You will ensure safe, well-maintained homes and assist with shopping, budgeting, and daily routines. As part of a compassionate team, you will train Direct Support Professionals to implement Individual Support Plans, coordinate staffing, and communicate with families in a warm, professional

Qualifications

  • Valid SC Driver's License is required.
  • Ability to lift or maneuver up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience in leadership, customer service, or similar role.
  • Ability to pass SafeServ Food Handler course
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Stamina to stand/walk for long periods and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine safety checks and maintain clean, safe homes.
  • Restock groceries and personal hygiene supplies; assist with shopping, appointments, and budgeting for residents.
  • Support DSPs in implementing Individual Support Plans and train staff to follow best practices.
  • Create staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage and coordinate with families and leadership.
  • Document progress notes, goals, and reports timely to stay compliant with policies.
