Job summary

The University of New Hampshire in Durham is seeking a Research Staff (Hourly) to support projects within the Translational Augmentative and Alternative Communication Data Sciences Lab. Responsibilities include data collection, participant support, and managing study materials and equipment.

Under supervision, you will assist with research protocols, training tasks, and data management, while ensuring confidentiality and adherence to study procedures in a collaborative lab environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Experience in research, clinical, educational, laboratory, data-management or related work requiring careful attention to procedures and documentation.
• Must complete required university and study-specific training before independently performing assigned research activities.
• Some assignments may involve working with research participants, audio/video recordings, AAC devices, or research equipment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow research protocols, written procedures, and supervisor instructions accurately.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle research information responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Research Data Collection and Participant Support
• Assist with implementation of research protocols and participant visits
• Prepare study materials, technology, and equipment for data-collection sessions
• Support administration of research tasks, assessments, and experimental procedures as trained
• Communicate with research participants regarding study logistics as assigned
• Accurately document study activities and follow approved study procedures
• Data Management and Research Support
• Enter, organize, code, and conduct quality checks of research data
• Assist with transcription, annotation, scoring, or preparation of behavioral, communication, audio/video, or device-generated data
• Maintain organized study records, files, and project documentation
• Follow laboratory procedures for secure data handling, participant confidentiality, and data documentation
• Laboratory and Project Operations
• Assist with setup, testing, inventory, and routine maintenance of research equipment and materials
• Support literature searches, preparation of research materials, and other project-related activities
• Participate in research team meetings and required training
• Perform other research support duties consistent with the scope of the position
