The Indigenous Wellness Research Institute has an outstanding opportunity for an Hourly Program Assistant (NE H NI SEIU 925 Non Supv) to join their team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Serve as primary contact with study participants; explain purpose of research study and protocols.
  2. Screen prospective participants to determine eligibility according to research protocol entrance criteria; conduct interviews according to established protocol.
  3. Compose correspondence, printed materials, and/or news releases related to research program policies, procedures, and operations; edit materials for accuracy, appearance, readability, and style.
  4. Compile and distribute information relative to program activities, confer with other departments and outside agencies; serve as resource person for program operations.
  5. Coordinate arrangements and assist with program activities such as meetings, camps, and other events.
  6. Schedule appointments and meetings.
  7. Establish and maintain confidential records and files, record statistical information.
  8. Prepare narrative and/or statistical reports regarding program operations.
  9. Use spreadsheet and database software to develop and maintain records.
  10. Deliver survey baseline and follow-up survey assessments with participants as needed.
  11. Answer participants’ questions regarding study protocol and/or characteristics of medication; notify appropriate research personnel regarding problems or complications reported by subjects.
  12. Review and explain consent forms, questionnaires, and surveys with prospective subjects.
  13. Inventory and order supplies.
  14. Travel to intervention sites for intervention planning support to the Program Coordinator and team.
  15. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  1. High school graduation or equivalent AND Two years of clerical experience.
  2. OR Equivalent education/experience.
  3. Must have a valid driver's license.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Good oral and written communication skills.
  2. General computer skills.
  3. Experience with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  4. One year of college-level course work in relevant academic area.
  5. Knowledge and/or experience of Choctaw or Indigenous culture.
  6. Experience working with youth, or
  7. One year of experience working in health, education, or social services.
  8. Comfortable working outdoors in variable weather conditions.
  9. Can comfortably lift 30 lbs.
