City of Las Vegas is seeking a Lifeguard for a part-time, hourly position at municipal pools. You will protect swimmers, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies to ensure a safe aquatic environment.
Applicants must be at least 16 years old. Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification is preferred and must be obtained before hire. A swim/tread test will be required, followed by a brief interview. Flexible hours and community program involvement are available.

This is an hourly level, part-time position.
Scheduled hours for this position are limited to 19 hours or less per week (Shift will vary based on the needs of the programs and facility). Hourly employees are also limited to 1,560 hours of work in any 12 month period.
Receives general supervision from higher level supervisory or management staff.
Candidates will complete a 10-minute swim followed by a hiring interview. Please bring appropriate swim attire.
The first 100 yards must be freestyle and will be timed. Maximum allotted time is 1:45.
Please note: our CLV standard for the 100 yard swim is 1:45.
Please note: our CLV standard for the tread is a 1 minute tread while holding a ten pound brick. The brick must be held out of the water with both hands. If you wish to attempt this on the date of your tryout, please make staff aware. If offered employment, candidate will be given a specific date in which the event should be completed per our standard.

All physical tests are pass or fail. If any part of this physical testing is a "fail," the candidate may retry on a separate date. A candidate can reschedule to retry as many times as they would like until they pass each component of the physical testing details.
The purpose of this recruitment is to establish an eligible list for current/future openings.
The selection process will include a review of all applications with only the most qualified participating in an interview. Final candidate selection will include hiring interview (if applicable). Any individual offered employment will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test and complete background check. Some positions may require preliminary background checks.
