Job summary

Acespower is seeking an Hourly Trader in Carmel, IN to manage generation and native load requirements, handle energy trades, and coordinate market activities across multiple departments. The role involves 24-hour coverage and travel as needed.

The candidate should have a business-related degree (or equivalent power trading experience), strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel, and solid communication abilities to interact with members and clients. Knowledge of ACES systems is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or an Associate’s degree with applicable power trading experience from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education.
• Previous business experience preferred to include price negotiation, data analysis and customer service.
• Demonstrated proficiency in computers, specifically Microsoft Excel.
• Competence with mathematics and technical concepts.
• High degree of analytical, attention to detail and organization skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and familiarity with ACES systems
• Application and use of critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Work rotating shift to provide 24-hour coverage and participate in daily trading floor operations.
• Understand Market Structure of ISO/RTOs as applicable.
• Fill native load requirements for participating members.
• Manage market of generation or contract resources for participating Members and Clients.
• Manage market exposure with regards to open book positions.
• Handle market and/or reliability communications between Reliability Entities and Generation Plants or Member Operators.
• Input data into ACES software systems.
• Optimize basic generation by utilizing economic decision making abilities.
• Coordinate Demand Side Management activities.
• Assist in gathering power marketing intelligence.
• Interface and manage requests involving ACES Members and Clients and various departments.
• Monitor market conditions and analyze transactions to help identify and execute energy trades.
• Manage optimization opportunities of client portfolios.
• Maintain excellent customer relationships and travel as needed.
• Adhere to regulatory requirements including NERC, FERC and state regulations.
• Any additional responsibilities assigned by management.
