Job summary

Houck Services, Inc. is seeking a full-time Warehouse/Stock Specialist to manage incoming and outgoing inventory, coordinate material deliveries, and oversee equipment maintenance on site. The role supports multiple crews by ensuring timely supply of materials and proper handling of warehouse operations.

The position emphasizes safety, OSHA guidelines, and the ability to drive trucks when needed (DOT certified). Applicants should be able to lift up to 100 pounds and work in varied environments.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely.
  • Experience in warehouse or stock handling is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase materials needed for office sanitation and jobsites.
  • Coordinate deliveries of materials to jobsites.
  • Coordinate equipment rentals as needed.
  • Organize stock and maintain inventory.
  • Inspect products for defects and damage.
  • Receive, unload and place incoming inventory items.
  • Verify and approve supplier invoices for payment.
  • Drive trucks when needed; requires DOT certification.

Summary/Objective

Performs an array of duties including ordering, receiving, and processing incoming stock and materials and managing, organizing, and retrieving stock and other materials. Responsible for supplying all projects with equipment and material on site and on time.Supervises fleet of vehicles, supervises equipment maintenance and repairs.Load and unload trucks.

Essential Functions:

  • Purchase materials needed for office sanitation and jobsites.
  • Work with estimators, project managers, superintendents and crews to coordinate deliveries of materials to jobsites.
  • Coordinate equipment rentals as needed.
  • Organize stock and maintain inventory.
  • Inspect products for defects and damage.
  • Examine ingoing and outgoing shipments.
  • Organize warehouse space and rotate material per expiration dates.
  • Receive, unload and place incoming inventory items.
  • Verify and approve supplier invoices for payment.
  • Keep the warehouse clean and organized.
  • Operates forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment.
  • Receives instructions from supervisor.
  • Abides by all OSHA and Houck safety guidelines.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Performs minor/routine maintenance at the corporate office and warehouse facility.
  • Coordinate and direct outside vendors when used at the facility.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Drive trucks when needed, will need to be DOT certified.

Functions can take place indoors or outdoors, sometimes in high, precarious places with fumes and/or airborne particles. The standard work environment has loud to very loud noise levels associated with various equipment, coworkers, and phone conversations. The employee works around hazardous situations, materials, and equipment.

Physical Demands
  • Physical demands are based on the ability to perform the following actions throughout an 8–10-hour period of work for 5 days.
