Job summary

The Whitney, a Boston boutique hotel, part of HHM Hotels, seeks a Steward/Dishwasher to maintain cleanliness and support kitchen operations. Duties include washing dishes, stocking and cleaning, and assisting during peak periods.

The role offers growth toward a supervisory path and a cooperative team environment in a luxury setting. Work may include holidays and weekends with standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous stewarding experience required or equivalent training.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans.
• Operate dishwashing and other kitchen cleaning equipment.
• Place clean dishes, utensils or cooking equipment in storage areas.
• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment and utensils in clean, orderly condition.
• Stock supplies (food, utensils) in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators or salad bars.
• Sweep and wash floors and clean trash cans.
• Sort and remove trash to designated pickup areas.
• Perform food preparation during staffing shortages or peak periods.
• Be aware of guest satisfaction scores and work toward higher satisfaction.
• Follow MSDS and OSHA safety standards.
