Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group in Houston is seeking a Security Officer to protect guests, employees and property and to respond to incidents in accordance with hotel policies. You will conduct daily security inspections, manage access control, coordinate with local police or fire authorities when required, and support loss-prevention programs while maintaining a professional, courteous demeanor.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, fluent English, ability to work

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus one year of security and safety experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must speak fluent English. Other languages preferred.
• Certification in safety and training and/or CPR/First Aid may be required or highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Record incident reports and coordinate with police, fire, and corporate departments as needed.
• Promote teamwork and coordinate with hotel departments and risk management.
• Train employees on safety issues and monitor compliance with loss control policies.
• Respond to guest incidents, investigate losses, and document investigations.
• Perform daily security inspections and secure doors and assets.
