Job summary

Aloft Silicon Valley is seeking a Housekeeping Room Inspector to ensure guest rooms and public areas meet brand cleanliness standards and to update room status for arrivals.

You will support and coach Room Attendants and collaborate with Front Desk and Engineering, reporting to the Housekeeper Supervisor/Manager. Prior hotel housekeeping experience is required, with attention to detail and reliability essential.

Qualifications

• Must have previous hotel housekeeping experience.
• Strong attention to detail and knowledge of hotel cleanliness standards preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions, meet deadlines, and work with limited supervision.
• Ability to give clear, respectful feedback to team members.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate well enough to complete checklists, read safety labels, and work with guests and team members.
• Basic computer skills to enter and update room status.
• Reliable attendance and flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts, as hotels operate every day.

Responsibilities

• Inspect guest rooms after cleaning using inspection checklist.
• Confirm rooms meet cleanliness and quality standards and return rooms to Room Attendants for correction when needed.
• Enter room status in the system for Front Desk to assign clean rooms.
• Identify required cleaning and prioritize early arrivals, rush rooms, and vacant dirty rooms.
• Enter room access and vacancy information before entering rooms.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, lost items, and damaged items.
• Check that housekeeping carts, linen closets, and supplies are stocked.
• Provide feedback and coaching to Room Attendants and train new team members on inspection standards.
• Respond promptly to guest requests and requests from other departments.
• Complete required housekeeping paperwork and communicate outstanding issues to supervisor.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and security procedures and keep keys secure.
• Clean rooms or assist during busy periods as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
