The Daxton Hotel combines luxury with avant-garde style and aims to set a new cultural standard in downtown Birmingham, just minutes from Detroit. It serves as a vibrant, soulful place, nurturing local partnerships and building international collaborations.

The Hotel Restaurant Manager reports to the GM of our restaurant, Madam. All F&B Managers work in a team environment with other F&B professionals, including barbacks, bartenders, servers, dishwashers, cooks, and chefs. The ideal candidate should have a background in basic service techniques, excellent time management skills, and a passion for creating memorable guest experiences. We emphasize treating each other with respect and kindness, sharing smiles, helping hands, and a willingness to assist in any situation.

YOU WILL NEED

  • 1 to 2 years of experience as a Restaurant Supervisor or Event/Banquet Manager in a hotel or standalone restaurant.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and non-verbal.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet guests warmly, ensure proper setup at the host stand, review reservations, and make room setup recommendations. Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, ensuring satisfaction throughout their experience.
  • Participate in daily line-ups and quarterly staff meetings to develop ideas, share feedback, and strategize improvements.
  • Prepare menus and ensure their condition and presentation are up to standard.
  • Develop thorough knowledge of menus, ingredients, and daily availability.
  • Understand server stations, assignments, timing patterns, workload capacities, and manage shift closures effectively.
  • Answer phone calls according to hotel standards, take reservations, and provide information about the restaurant and other hotel services.
  • Monitor physical facilities and communicate any issues to the food and beverage leadership team for resolution.
  • Coordinate with F&B and Culinary teams to ensure timely delivery of guest orders.
