Job summary

Highgate Salinas Courtyard is seeking an Assistant General Manager to drive profitability through revenue generation, cost control, and guest satisfaction. You will lead, coach and develop a team of managers while maintaining Highgate Hotel standards and a strong focus on operations.

This role requires high engagement, weekly reviews, and proactive management of budgets, training, and guest service, with responsibilities spanning sales, finance, and personnel development at the Courtyard Salinas.

Qualifications

• 5-6 years progressive experience in a hotel setting.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Long hours sometimes required.

Responsibilities

• Play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts, including calling on top ten accounts and meeting clients.
• Tour the operating departments daily and coordinate with department heads.
• Conduct weekly staff meetings and training sessions.
• Meet all financial review dates and corporate programs on time.
• Hold monthly financial reviews with all department managers and supervisors.
• Ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity and proper accounting procedures.
• Develop managers for advancement through training programs.
• Participate in M.O.D. coverage as scheduled.
• Maintain contact with management trainees and ensure compliance with SOPs.
• Oversee and assist in the hotel budget process and service standards training.
• Inspect rooms with Housekeeping and Property Engineer.
• Forecast monthly financial position and analyze data for reforecasts.
• Conduct management interviews and ensure proper hiring procedures.
