Job description

Position Summary

Performing any of the Front Desk, PBX, and accounting functions to ensure late night auditing and balancing while providing professional and efficient guest service.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for greeting arriving and departing guests and assisting with check‑in and check‑out procedures.
  • Provide information to all guests regarding the hotel, casino, local services, attractions, and locations for business, dining, and entertainment.
  • Respond to all guest complaints or issues in a hospitable and efficient manner focusing on guest satisfaction.
  • Use cash/credit card handling and balancing procedures to complete each shift.
  • Maintain and safeguard monetary banks.
  • Ensure all room rates and guest information is correct by balancing the registration bucket to the Micros FDM system.
  • Log and inform the appropriate supervisor of any and all discrepancies.
  • Ensure all reports are thoroughly and neatly completed at the end of each shift to ensure a smooth transition for the next business day.
  • Maintain books and records within the hotel and reconcile to proof totals on a nightly basis.
  • Prepare accounting statements and reports as required and ensure proper reconciliation with supporting documentation.
  • Familiarity with the hotel, casino, services offered, and the image the hotel wishes to project.
  • Perform any and all duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications

Equipment to be Used

PBX phone system, keyboard, fax/copier, key card machine, cash register, 10‑key calculator.

Physical and Mental Demands

Ability to concentrate in a very fast‑paced environment and exercise good judgment in evaluating situations and taking effective action. Present ideas effectively both orally and in writing. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee may occasionally be required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may occasionally be required to lift more than 25 pounds. The employee must be able to continuously look at a monitor for long periods of time and also have the ability to hear and hold conversations over the phone and at the front desk with continuous noise and distraction.

Working Conditions

Ability to work in a casino environment in the midst of noise and crowded situations.
