Job summary

Marcus Hotels & Resorts in Milwaukee, WI, invites applicants to join the 12-month Marcus Leadership Development Program (MLDP). This full-time, paid program offers structured rotations across Rooms Division and exposure to managers and executives on property and at corporate.

Participants will rotate through assignments, build leadership and business skills, and be placed at a Marcus property after completion.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled or have a degree in hotel, restaurant, hospitality, tourism, F&B, etc.
• Open to relocation for program placement and future opportunities
• Ability to interact with people at all levels professionally
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, analytical, and written communication skills
• Desire to learn and contribute in a team-based environment
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while staying organized
• Willingness to learn new skills and software systems

Responsibilities

• Follow a structured rotation of assignments throughout the Rooms Division on property to learn operations of the hospitality industry
• Adhere to a curriculum to develop leadership skills and business acumen
• Participate in management and staff meetings collaborating across departments
• Develop rapport with guests, associates, and corporate/local leadership

Job description

Marcus Hotels & Resorts, a leading national hotel management company based in Milwaukee, WI, is seeking individuals who are interested in kick starting their career in the hospitality space and being a part of our 12-month, Marcus Leadership Development Program (MLDP). Our Leadership Development Program has been meticulously designed to nurture and develop well-rounded leaders by providing opportunities to work alongside experienced managers and executives, both on property and at corporate.

MLDP participants should emerge well-equipped for roles in hotel leadership across a broad spectrum of specialties and departments. This program will focus on professional and personal growth by building upon previous experience, any formal education or training and an individual’s innate skills. After completion of the program, participants will be placed at one of our properties. The Marcus Leadership Development Program is a full-time, paid development program.

This opening will be based at the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa. The Grand Geneva in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin is a 1,300 acre, AAA Four Diamond resort and spa recognized as a Top Resort in the Midwest by Conde Nast Traveler. This award-winning, all-seasons destination features over 746 guest accommodations, the WELL Spa & Salon, two championship golf courses, fitness facilities, a ski hill and terrain park, and 9 unique food and beverage outlets.

What you will be doing:

• Follow a structured rotation of assignments throughout the Rooms Division on property to learn and understand the dynamic operations of the specific location and hospitality industry as a whole
• Adhere to an established curriculum designed to develop leadership skills, business acumen, and a better understanding of operational standards
• Participate in management and staff meetings while you collaborate across departments and professional disciplines
• Develop in depth and regular rapport with guests, associates, and both corporate and property based leadership
• Opportunities for project work and task force assignments in your assigned and other locations

What we are looking for:

• Currently enrolled or have a degree from a college, university, 2 or 4 year program in hotel, restaurant, hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, etc. OR comparable industry experience and training
• Must be open to relocation for program placement and following completion, should also be open to task force work assignments and opportunities
• Ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization in a professional manner
• Possess strong interpersonal, verbal, analytical, and written communication skills
• Desire to learn and contribute in a team-based environment
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment while remaining organized and detail oriented
• Willing and motivated to learn new skills, tasks, and software systems to meet the changing demands of the industry
