Job summary

MCR is seeking a Maintenance Engineer in Elizabeth, NJ to support operation, maintenance and repair of hotel equipment. You will participate in preventative maintenance, coordinate with front desk and housekeeping for work orders, and ensure safety protocols are followed.

The role requires basic maintenance skills, proficiency with hand/power tools and Windows, and strong communication. This full-time position offers weekly pay, PTO, retirement options, and health benefits after 30 days.

Qualifications

• Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
• Basic maintenance skills.
• Proficient in use of hand tools, power tools and test equipment.
• Must be proficient in Windows operating systems and company approved spreadsheets and word processing.
• Desire to serve all guests.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the preventative maintenance program.
• Perform tasks in a safe and efficient manner.
• Assist with operation, maintenance and repair of equipment in guest rooms, public spaces, and hotel facilities.
• Communicate effectively with guests, coworkers and supervisor.
• Ensure all fire and safety inspections and protocols are completed and discrepancies corrected.
• Collaborate with vendors to discuss scope, products and materials used in repairs.
• Obtain pricing and bids or develop cost estimates as needed.
• Monitor tools, supplies and inventories of maintenance department.
• Place orders with approved vendors as needed.
• Maintain working spaces in safe and clean condition.
• Coordinate with front desk for guest service requests, housekeeping for work orders, and GM for capital projects.
• Carry all equipment to be prepared to execute tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
