Job summary

InterContinental Hotels Group is seeking a Maintenance Representative to help keep our Cleveland property running smoothly and guest areas in top condition. You’ll perform repairs, refurbishments in guest rooms, and handle daily maintenance tasks with safety and quality in mind.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of maintenance experience, a high school diploma or vocational training, and familiarity with basic plumbing and electrical work.

Qualifications

• Experience – at least one year of maintenance or repair work.
• High school diploma or related vocational training.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office, a building management programme, and/or reporting tools like HotSos, Opera, Lutron, Bartech, or Inncom.
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrics and preventative maintenance procedures.
• CPO certification – if the hotel has a pool.
• Fitness – ability to stand for long periods and bend/kneel.
• Compliance – local laws on food handling and serving alcohol; fluent in local language; meet minimum age.
• Strong communication – warm, welcoming and easy to talk to.

Responsibilities

• Repair or replace items around the hotel and refurbish items in guest rooms.
• Organise supplies and ensure equipment is ready for the next day.
• Adhere to safety standards – report incidents or unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Oversee safety and cleanliness of indoor/outdoor areas like car park and pool.
• Follow preventative maintenance calendar to keep systems running smoothly.
• Be a friendly face and helping hand to guests.
• Keep supervisor informed about low running supplies.
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance in uniform.
• Be ready to take on extra duties as needed.
