Job summary

SpringHill Suites - Birmingham is seeking a dependable Maintenance Worker to join the Engineering Team. The role supports daily hotel operations, performing routine and preventive maintenance to keep guest areas safe, clean, and well‑functioning.

You will assist with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs, respond to requests, and help ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards. This is an on-site position with guest‑facing responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Prior maintenance experience in hospitality setting preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general building systems.
• Strong attention to safety and guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, emergencies, and guest needs.
• Assist with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and general building repairs.
• Inspect and maintain guest rooms, public areas, back‑of‑house areas, and exterior spaces.
• Repair and maintain doors, locks, fixtures, furniture, lighting, appliances, and hotel equipment.
• Complete assigned maintenance work orders accurately and efficiently.
• Assist the Engineering team with preventative maintenance inspections and scheduled projects.
• Maintain maintenance tools, equipment, supplies, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
• Communicate maintenance concerns, safety issues, and equipment problems to the Engineering leadership team.
• Assist with property improvement projects, repairs, inspections, and renovations as needed.
• Support outside vendors and contractors while working on hotel property.
• Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and exceptional service.
• Help ensure compliance with Marriott brand standards, safety requirements, and company policies.
