Job summary

The Lake View Hotel on Mackinac Island is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine preventative maintenance and repairs in guest rooms and public areas.

You will follow department procedures, diagnose defects, document work, and communicate results. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will ensure safety, quality, and timely response to maintenance requests to keep the property in top condition.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of trade school or equivalent.
• General technical experience and 1-3 years in hotels or facilities maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the hotel’s maintenance and upkeep standards meet Lake View Hotel and Guest standards.
• Support Chief Engineer in overseeing and supervising all aspects of the Engineering function of the hotel.
• Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Guest rooms - plumbing, electrical work, and miscellaneous repairs as required.
• Public areas - repairs and maintenance of fixtures and cosmetic items.
• Read, track, and interpret readings from meters, gauges, and other measuring units; maintain a daily log.
• Respond to maintenance work orders in a timely manner.
