Job summary

Residence Inn Austin-University Area is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our hotel team. You will respond to repair requests, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure safety standards are followed across the property.

Ideal candidates have a technical background, strong communication skills, and a guest-service mindset. Flexibility with scheduling, including evenings and weekends, is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Technical, Trade or Vocational school degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of work-related experience in a commercial facility, hospitality or related field preferred.
• Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Must follow established guidelines and procedures.
• Must work well under pressure.
• Must listen, resolve conflicts, and communicate effectively.
• Must be able to convey information clearly.
• Must have hospitality and guest service mindset.
• Must be 18 years or older to perform this job.
• Schedule may include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Respond to all guest repair requests and document completion.
• Maintain preventive maintenance on room and public spaces on schedule.
• Follow safety codes and report emergencies to supervisor/GM.
• Conduct full property walks at shift start and end.
• Keep maintenance areas clean and organized during shifts.
