Job summary

Crescent Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Room Attendant/maintenance-focused role in New York City. You will perform general maintenance tasks to ensure guest comfort and uphold hotel standards, while assisting with routine repairs and preventative maintenance.

The position emphasizes teamwork, guest service, and adherence to safety policies, with compensation aligned to the NYC CBA at $41.79 per hour. This is a substitute/onsite role under the union agreement.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
• Capable of lifting 25–50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
• Willing to pitch in and help co-workers as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance tasks to uphold hotel quality standards.
• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance and report work orders.
• Check electrical components (air conditioning controls, lighting, TVs) and perform minor repairs.
• Assist with repairs on hotel equipment including small appliances, kitchen and laundry gear.
• Service and maintain the pool area, including chemical adjustments and filter cleaning.
• Maintain exterior areas and curb appeal (snow removal, lawn care, painting, gardening).
• Refurbish furniture and fixtures in guest rooms as needed; repaint or refinish surfaces.
• Respond courteously to guest questions, complaints, and requests to ensure satisfaction.
