Job summary

Hotel Equities is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Hotel Paso Del Norte in El Paso, TX. The role involves maintaining hotel operations, supervising the maintenance team, and ensuring life-safety compliance. Strong communication and budget awareness are essential.

You will oversee HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems and coordinate with managers on building condition, repairs, and contractor work. A proactive, guest-focused mindset is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham or Hyatt processes and standards.
• Ability to read/write and communicate effectively; basic accounting knowledge may be required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the operation of the maintenance department and life safety programs.
• Supervise maintenance staff; schedule work and monitor performance.
• Manage budget and departmental expenses; assist with annual budgeting.
• Ensure compliance with policies for a clean, safe environment.
• Oversee operation of hotel equipment and systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
• Handle maintenance requests promptly and follow up.
• Hire, train, and evaluate department staff; coordinate with management.
• Communicate condition reports to General/Assistant Managers and propose cost-effective improvements.
• Supervise external contractors when needed; adhere to company rules.
