Job summary

Hampton Inn Carefree is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to perform general and preventive maintenance on hotel systems and equipment. You will support shift supervision, train staff, and ensure safety and quality across all hotel areas.

The role requires strong carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical skills with solid communication. Flexibility for weekends/holidays is needed. The Maintenance Engineer reports to the Engineering Management team.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years building maintenance experience required.
• Experience in plumbing, electrical, mechanical and carpentry preferred.
• Must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to write routine reports, logs, and correspondence.
• Professionalism when dealing with guests and associates.
• Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Some knowledge of life-safety systems preferred but not required.
• Proficient in general computer knowledge.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance to meet hotel quality and safety standards.
• Perform preventive maintenance on major equipment and systems.
• Support Engineer IV with shift supervision and projects.
• Ensure inventory security and replenish supplies efficiently.
• Assist in training other staff and sharing knowledge.
• Analyze problems and procure materials with high quality.
• Monitor HVAC, doors, lighting, and other systems and perform minor repairs.
• Maintain interior/exterior of buildings, rooms, and equipment.
• May assist with other duties as assigned.
• Report to Engineering Management team.
