Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking an Engineer 1 for Residence Inn Altamonte Springs to maintain the property and minimize guest disruption. You will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and equipment readings across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and pools. Strong reading of blueprints and documentation is required.

The role requires physical capability, effective communication with guests and colleagues, and flexibility with hours. On-site work at Residence Inn Altamonte Springs, FL.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field required.
• At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Trade school and/or College course work in related field helpful.
• Heavy work – may require lifting and climbing as part of routine maintenance.
• Excellent communication with guests and team members is essential.

Responsibilities

• Make repairs to hotel air conditioning system: change filters, clean coils, replace motors.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment (boilers, chillers, HVAC, electrical, etc.).
• Take required readings on equipment and test cooling tower readings.
• Replace and program televisions, light switches, fixtures and pumps as needed.
• Repair plumbing, read blueprints, and maintain maintenance records.
• Test, clean and repair pools and spas; ensure compliance with codes.
