Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking an on-site Maintenance Engineer in Seattle to ensure the property is kept in peak condition with minimal disruption to guests and staff.

You will perform repairs, preventive maintenance, and system inspections across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related hotel infrastructure, while reading blueprints and maintaining records. A high school diploma and hotel maintenance experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; hotel or related field experience preferred.
• At least one year of progressive experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Trade school or college coursework in related field helpful.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Must communicate effectively with all employees and guests; attentive and service oriented.

Responsibilities

• Make repairs to hotel air conditioning system and related components.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment (boilers, chillers, HVAC, electrical).
• Take required readings and test systems; maintain records.
• Repair pumps, lighting, plumbing, and fixtures.
• Read blueprints and wiring diagrams; troubleshoot kitchen equipment.
