Job summary

Highgate Hotels at Hyatt House Las Colinas in Irving, TX is seeking an Engineer Level 1 to ensure the property is maintained in top condition with minimal disruption to guests and staff.

The engineer will perform HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general repair tasks, read blueprints, and maintain records. A High School diploma and at least 1 year of hotel experience are preferred, with flexibility for long hours and strong communication essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of progressive hotel-related experience preferred.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Effective verbal and written communication with all levels of staff and guests.

Responsibilities

• Make repairs to hotel air conditioning systems (filters, coils, motors).
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment (boilers, chillers, HVAC, electrical).
• Take and record readings for equipment and systems.
• Repair plumbing, electrical fixtures, and small-scale carpentry tasks.
• Read blueprints and wiring diagrams; read and trace water lines.
• Test, repair, and program hotel electronic locks.
• Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records.
• Ensure work complies with local, state and federal codes.
