Job summary

The Pierside Hotel in Santa Monica, CA, is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our team. You will respond to engineering service calls, prioritize guest requests, and maintain hotel equipment with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler and guest rooms, plus documenting parts and work orders. The role requires alertness for emergencies, strong teamwork, and a professional appearance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, with trade school courses in building maintenance and construction.
• At least 6 months of experience in a comparable role.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest requests professionally and promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on hotel equipment (kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical, guest rooms).
• Monitor engineering functions during off-hours and respond to emergencies (alarms, power failures).
• Inspect property rounds to ensure things work; document parts used and needed."
• Keep records for Preventive Maintenance and Requests programs.
• Handle elevator issues and maintain daily work orders and logs.
