Job summary

The Press Hotel in Portland, Maine, seeks a Maintenance Engineer to join our hospitality team. Responsibilities include responding to guest maintenance calls, updating work orders, and performing tasks such as carpentry, drywall, painting, and lighting to uphold facility standards.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year maintenance experience in a hotel setting, strong mechanical knowledge, and a valid US driver's license. Flexibility for midweek/weekend hours is required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years general maintenance experience, hotel/lodging environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of mechanical operations.
• Possess an active US driver's license.
• Available and willing to work flexible hours including weekdays and weekends.
• Successful completion of satisfactory background check.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest calls via maintenance work order application and update status.
• Communicate with guests to update on repair status in rooms and areas.
• Complete daily tasks and projects including light carpentry, drywall, painting, tile work, and lighting.
• Work closely with housekeeping and guest services to ensure guest satisfaction and proper facility function.
• Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC and other systems; inspect, clean, and report safety concerns.
• Maintain tidy and safe maintenance areas; comply with OSHA and safety procedures.
