Job summary

Bienville House Hotel is seeking a General Building Mechanic responsible for maintaining the hotel, restaurant, and grounds. You will handle repairs across multiple trades and ensure guest areas remain safe and well‑maintained.

The role requires basic hand and power tool knowledge, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills to handle guest requests and complaints.
• Ability to follow hotel maintenance procedures and checklists.
• Experience in a hotel or hospitality maintenance environment preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork to coordinate with departments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee engineering and maintenance operations for hotel, property, restaurant and grounds.
• Respond to maintenance concerns and safety issues.
• Perform and monitor maintenance and preventative projects.
• Assist in supervising temporary maintenance staff.
• Ensure proper supplies and equipment for operations.
• Support guest room and public space upkeep.
• Maintain guest rooms and public areas, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting and tiling tasks.
