Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a hotel maintenance engineer to ensure the reliable operation of building systems and guest- related equipment. You will manage mechanical, electrical, and plumbing tasks, perform routine upkeep, and respond to maintenance requests with a proactive, guest-friendly approach.

The role requires hands-on experience in hotel or similar property maintenance, a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends, and the ability to work independently within a small team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a hotel engineer or equivalent maintenance role is preferred.
• Ability to diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
• Strong reliability, hands-on problem solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all equipment, systems and components including HVAC, pumps, refrigeration and plumbing.
• Install and replace lighting fixtures; paint and repair surfaces as needed.
• Dismantle and repair faulty machinery; test operation after servicing.
• Inspect machinery, listen for unusual sounds and coordinate with supervisors.
• Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment and fixtures.
• Attend training sessions and team meetings as scheduled.
• Assist in delivering and setting up new equipment (TVs, furniture, etc.).
• Communicate project status to Maintenance Supervisor and respond to guest requests promptly.
