Job summary

The Raphael Hotel Autograph Collection in Kansas City is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for operating, maintaining and repairing equipment, and participating in preventive maintenance programs to ensure guest comfort and safety.

You will handle guest requests, respond to alarms, and perform carpentry, painting, plumbing and other tasks as needed. A high school diploma and a valid driver\'s license are required; trade licenses are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Trade license preferred (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.).
• Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Must have valid driver\'s license and acceptable MVR.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the operation, maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms, ice machines, kitchen and HVAC.
• Repair plumbing, electrical, carpentry and other small equipment as needed.
• Respond to alarms promptly and report findings to Front Desk.
• Complete other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Description

The Raphael Hotel is a "Top 10 Marriott Autograph Collection" Hotel. The Maintenance personnel are responsible for assisting with the operation, maintenance, service, and repair of assigned equipment. He / she is also responsible for participating in the preventive maintenance program, handling guest requests and other assigned work orders. He / she is also responsible for performing the job safely and efficiently and performing commercial jobs such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, etc. May require driving hotel van when necessary (specific property).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with the operation maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Change out light bulbs; perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms to include: vinyl repair, touch up paint, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, tile repairs, etc.
• Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC, guestrooms, meeting rooms, the swimming pool and hot tub.
• Perform plumbing repair, laundry equipment repair, preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply; monitor energy conservation; repair vacuum cleaners and any other small equipment upon request.
• Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause - determine emergency status and report to the Front Desk with findings.
• Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing electrical HVAC carpentry etc.).
• Must have a valid driver's license for the applicable state.
• Must have an acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Driving Record) property specific.
• Must be able to repetitively lift and carry up to 65 pounds on a regular basis and a maximum of 140 pounds with assistance.
• Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, crawl, twist and grip items on a regular basis. On occasion will be required to climb up and down ladders.
• Available to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays.
