Job summary

103 - Raphael Hotel - Autograph Collection in Kansas City, MO, seeks a Maintenance Engineer to support operations, maintenance and repairs of hotel equipment and systems. You will participate in preventive maintenance, handle guest requests and complete work orders safely and efficiently.

Requirements include hotel maintenance experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license. Trade licenses are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operation, maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Change out light bulbs and perform basic room maintenance (paint, vinyl, furniture touch‑ups).
• Perform preventative maintenance on ice machines, kitchen and laundry equipment, HVAC, pools, etc.
• Handle plumbing repairs, energy monitoring and respond to alarms, reporting findings to Front Desk.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Description

Are you looking to join an award-winning and historic KC hotel as a Maintenance Engineer? Maintenance personnel are responsible for assisting with the operation, maintenance, service, and repair of assigned equipment. He / she is also responsible for participating in the preventive maintenance program, handling guest requests and other assigned work orders. He / she is also responsible for performing the job safely and efficiently and performing commercial jobs such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, etc. May require driving hotel truck when necessary (specific property).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with the operation maintenance and repair of equipment.


• Change out light bulbs; perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms to include: vinyl repair, touch up paint, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, tile repairs, etc.


• Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC, guestrooms, meeting rooms, the swimming pool and hot tub.


• Perform plumbing repair, laundry equipment repair, preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply; monitor energy conservation; repair vacuum cleaners and any other small equipment upon request.


• Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause - determine emergency status and report to the Front Desk with findings.


• Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.


• High School diploma or equivalent required.


• Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing electrical HVAC carpentry etc.).


• Must have a valid driver's license for the applicable state.


• Must have an acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Driving Record) property specific.


• Must be able to repetitively lift and carry up to 65 pounds on a regular basis and a maximum of 140 pounds with assistance.


• Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, crawl, twist and grip items on a regular basis. On occasion will be required to climb up and down ladders.


• Available to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays.
