Job summary

Holiday Inn South Plainfield-Piscataway is seeking a Laundry Attendant to operate commercial laundry equipment and maintain clean linens and uniforms for our hotel. You will wash, dry, iron, fold, and deliver items to the appropriate departments while upholding quality standards and guest service.

The role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. English communication and a flexible schedule including weekends are necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Previous hotel or commercial laundry experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment.
• Basic understanding of laundry chemicals and fabric care.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Sort, inspect, and separate soiled linens, towels, uniforms, and guest laundry.
• Operate commercial washers, dryers, ironers, folders, and pressing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Apply detergents, chemicals, and stain-removal treatments according to hotel procedures.
• Fold, stack, and organize clean laundry for distribution.
• Deliver clean linens and uniforms to housekeeping and other departments.
• Monitor linen inventory and report shortages or damaged items.
• Inspect linens and uniforms for stains, tears, or wear.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry room and equipment.
• Follow OSHA, safety, and chemical handling procedures.
• Respond promptly to guest laundry requests while maintaining confidentiality.
• Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to management.
