Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels in Milpitas, CA, is seeking a Cook to deliver fresh, high-quality meals across restaurant service, breakfast operations, banquets, and catering. You’ll work in a fast-paced kitchen, preparing and presenting menu items with consistency, efficiency, and attention to detail while supporting daily operations.

We value teamwork and a passion for hospitality. The role requires a high school diploma (preferred) and experience in food service; you will follow food safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous cooking/food service experience in restaurant, hotel, banquet, catering, or similar settings preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
• Strong attention to detail with focus on quality and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portioning guidelines, presentation standards, and food safety requirements.
• Support daily kitchen operations across restaurant dining, breakfast service, banquets, catering, room service, and special events.
• Assist with food preparation tasks including chopping, prepping ingredients, cooking, plating, and station setup.
• Maintain consistency, quality, and presentation across all food items and guest orders.
• Ensure kitchen workstations remain clean, organized, stocked, and operational.
• Follow HACCP guidelines and health department requirements at all times.
• Monitor inventory and communicate supply or prep needs to culinary leadership.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely (grills, fryers, ovens, slicers, mixers, etc.).
• Collaborate with chefs and Food & Beverage staff to deliver guest experiences.
• Assist with minimizing food waste and maintaining kitchen efficiency.
