Job summary

Shamin Hotels in Richmond seeks a Part-time Houseperson to support housekeeping and light maintenance tasks. You’ll help keep guest spaces guest-ready by handling linens, supplies, and routine cleaning. Training is provided, and there’s room to grow within 80+ hotels in the group.

Ideal candidates have basic maintenance skills, a willingness to learn, and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs while staying on their feet. You’ll enjoy a dynamic, friendly team in a vibrant city setting.

Qualifications

• Reliable and detail-oriented; able to work on feet for long periods.
• Willing to learn across housekeeping and light maintenance tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and push carts safely.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills are helpful.

Responsibilities

• Support room attendants by removing used linens, towels, and trash from guest rooms.
• Deliver fresh linens, supplies, and requested items.
• Keep the lobby, hallways, elevators, and public spaces looking sharp.
• Vacuum, dust, clean windows, and maintain organized supply areas.
• Handle basic maintenance: touch-up painting, patching walls, replacing bulbs and filters, tightening fixtures, unclogging drains, etc.
• Report maintenance concerns that require specialized repairs.
• Follow safe cleaning practices and use tools and equipment properly.
• Welcome guests with a friendly attitude and lend teammates a hand.
