Job summary

HIX FORT WAYNE LODGING LLC in Fort Wayne is seeking a dedicated hotel housekeeper to maintain cleanliness of public areas and guest rooms to our standards.

Responsibilities include cleaning sinks, toilets and floors, dusting furniture and windows, assisting guests with requests, and supporting laundry duties when needed. Training, uniforms, and employee benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Capable of standing for extended periods and lifting light loads.

Responsibilities

To clean and maintain all public areas (i.e. hotel lobby, restrooms) in impeccable condition, in accordance with hotel standards.

Essential Functions

• Thoroughly cleans sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, countertops, walls vents and floors with specifically assigned cleaning agents. Disposes of trash.


• Dusts all furniture and pictures, cleans all windows and glass, and vacuums public areas. As well as pool area and fitness center.


• Vacuums and disposes of trash in office areas.


• Help in laundry when needed


• Maintains a vacuumed appearance in stairwells.


• Cleans guest rooms when needed


• Assists delivering guest requests.

Supportive Functions

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

• Attend all mandatory meetings.


• Report all suspicious persons or activities, hazardous conditions, etc. to Safety/Security Department.


• Provide general public assistance, instruction and/or guidance for guests and employee safety in the event of an emergency.


• Complete all other duties assigned by supervisor, to include cross training.


• Keep work area neat and organized.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skill And Ability

• Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and operation of various cleaning equipment


• Ability to extend arms, scrub, bend, stoop, stand, and walk in public areas for extended periods of time


• Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other team members verbally and in written form


• Ability to understand and follow directions, and perform job functions with limited supervision
