Job description

Riggs Washington DC sits on the iconic downtown corner of Penn Quarter's 9th and F Street in a historic building once home to Riggs National Bank. Each of the Hotel's 181 guest rooms offers a playful nod to the building's legacy. Riggs is home to the all-occasion European brasserie-inspired restaurant Café Riggs, as well as Silver Lyan - a subterranean bar from the internationally acclaimed Ryan Chetiyawardana, also known as Mr Lyan.

As the senior leader at Riggs, the General Manager holds ultimate responsibility for the hotel's overall performance. This role is pivotal in developing and implementing property strategies, guiding the leadership team, and achieving exceptional commercial outcomes. The General Manager is dedicated to delivering a luxury guest experience, fostering employee engagement, ensuring operational excellence, and preserving the integrity of this landmark asset - achieving these goals in harmony rather than as competing aspirations. This position is highly visible, engaging with guests, staff, ownership, clientele, and the broader Washington, DC community. Success in this role requires a keen operational eye, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to cultivate a high-performing, inclusive team within a dynamic luxury hotel and food and beverage environment.

Foster a culture where the values of Family, Discovery, Detail, and Spirit are reflected in daily leadership behaviors.

Who We Are

Café Riggs, the hotel's all day contemporary American brasserie, sits on the ground floor. Silver Lyan occupies the original bank vault and is the first bar outside Europe from the internationally acclaimed Mr. Lyan team. Riggs is a storied landmark with a modern spirit.
