OTO Development is a hotel development and management company managing upscale properties across the United States. The position of Building Maintenance Technician I focuses on routine upkeep, safety, and guest-ready operations within a hotel setting.

The role involves HVAC and minor repairs, preventative maintenance, and ensuring guest areas meet the brand’s standards, with emphasis on timely response to maintenance needs and strong teamwork with hotel staff.

Qualifications

• FSD Certification or ability to complete within 6–8 months.
• Capability to take a company-sponsored Pool Operator class and pass the exam.
• 1+ year as Building Maintenance Technician I or 1–2 years in a related field.
• General knowledge of hand tools and maintenance procedures.
• Able to work with guests and team members in a guest-focused environment.
• Strong time management and ability to deliver quality work within parameters.
• Customer service mindset to anticipate guest needs and respond to requests.
• Action-oriented with focus on delivering outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Wear brand-standard uniform, ID, footwear, and PPE to prevent injury.
• Adhere to safety/security guidelines for equipment, guests, and chemicals.
• Change HVAC filters and perform minor HVAC, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
• Ensure fire life safety systems are functioning and operational.
• Perform a wide variety of preventative maintenance duties.
• Inspect and clean rooms after work and ensure adherence to standards.
• Pick trash throughout the property.
• Maintain maintenance equipment and ensure proper function.
• Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies.
• Paint walls, ceilings, doors, and window trim as needed.
• Ensure guest laundry washers, dryers, vending machines, and common areas are cleaned twice daily.
