Job summary

Marriott Short Pump in Glen Allen, VA is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support hotel facilities. You will perform general maintenance, assist electricians, carpenters, plumbers, and painters, and ensure safety and cleanliness of the engineering areas.

This role requires knowledge of codes and proper tool use, plus strong guest-service orientation. The position emphasizes physical work, adherence to OSHA regulations, and the ability to handle routine emergencies to keep the property

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Good English language and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Experience with general building maintenance and basic trades preferred.

Responsibilities

• Be in proper uniform with nametag and maintain guest relations.
• Resolve guest complaints and support guest satisfaction.
• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs and basic trades (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry).
• Review work orders, schedule tasks and assist in emergencies to protect guests and the building.
