Job summary

Southall is seeking an Engineering Maintenance Technician to perform daily maintenance across hotel facilities, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks. Responsibilities include problem diagnosis, repairs, and preventive programs to ensure equipment reliability.

Qualifications

• Five years of general building maintenance experience, or an equivalent completion of a technical program.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with guests, students, and coworkers.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• The equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems, perform repairs and preventive maintenance on generators, HVAC equipment, vehicles, appliances, or water & wastewater equipment.
• Estimate time, cost and materials for tasks; inspect work for compliance; suggest modifications to complete tasks.
• Builds, fabricates, or repairs structures, equipment, from verbal instructions or drawings.
• Conducts periodic inspections to determine repair needs and contributes to preventive maintenance programs.
• Provides journey level skilled mechanical and preventive maintenance duties and servicing for resort satellite buildings.
• Conducts tests to evaluate quality or performance of products, services, or processes.
• Work independently coordinating daily workflow on assigned buildings and projects.
• Prioritizes repair requests and plans parts availability to complete tasks quickly.
• Inspects drives, motors, belts, fluid levels, and filters; performs maintenance actions following checklists.
• Service, repair, calibrate and test machines operating on electrical or mechanical principles.
• Dismantles devices to access defective parts using hoists and power tools.
• Trains and instructs new Contributing and General Maintenance Technicians.
• May perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
