Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer at Graduate Providence in Providence, RI. The role leads daily Engineering operations, oversees a team, and ensures safe, compliant hotel facilities.

Responsibilities include budget oversight, preventive maintenance, and coordination of renovations while maintaining energy efficiency. A 3+ year facilities background in hospitality and boiler operation know-how are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years progressive facilities management experience in a hotel or related field.
• 4-year college degree preferred.
• HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations and general maintenance skills required.
• Must obtain Boiler Operators’ license within 90 days of hire date.
• Rhode Island Refrigeration License preferred.
• Candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Long hours and travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Engineering Department.
• Manage budget and assist in financial forecasting.
• Supervise and train Engineering staff in procedures and safety.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws.
• Maintain and monitor life safety systems and emergency procedures.
• Coordinate vendor contracts and preventive maintenance programs.
• Attend meetings and support special projects and renovations.
