Job summary

Quorum Hospitality is seeking a Chief Engineer for Residence Inn Wilmington Downtown to lead the hotel's Engineering team, manage maintenance, and uphold safety and quality standards. You will drive preventative maintenance programs, oversee repairs, and coordinate with operations to ensure guest satisfaction.

Qualities sought include 3+ years in hotel engineering, strong leadership, and proficiency with Windows OS. A trade license is preferred, with a valid state driver's license and clean MVR.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Engineering experience in a hotel or similar field.
• Leadership experience required.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a 2 to 4-year college degree is a plus.
• Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.).
• Must be proficient with Windows operating systems.
• Must have valid driver’s license for applicable state and an acceptable MVR.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Engineering team, ensuring effective performance and high standards.
• Participate in hiring, training, development, and performance management of staff.
• Handle maintenance requests swiftly and effectively, ensuring guest satisfaction with timely solutions.
• Follow established procedures and policies diligently, and report emergencies or unusual situations immediately.
• Monitor expenses including energy, labor, and inventory and manage against department budget goals.
• Perform preventative maintenance across carpentry, painting, plumbing, and minor repairs.
