Job summary

AC Hotel San Jose Downtown seeks a Director of Engineering to lead the maintenance of the property's mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. You will oversee safety features, storerooms and tool inventories, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to budgets.

Expect to manage delegated work orders, respond to after-hours issues, and provide clear communication with teams and stakeholders. 7–10 years of related experience is preferred; bilingual or multilingual capabilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
• Ability to interpret technical instructions, diagrams or blueprints.
• Ability to operate tools, hand tools and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
• Must be flexible and able to perform multiple tasks and work in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the building’s physical, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Ensure the security, cleanliness, preventive maintenance and repair of all engineering tools, equipment and safety features.
• Keep storerooms and work spaces clean and organized; store tools and spare parts properly.
• Complete delegated work orders in a timely and professional manner.
• Respond to after-hour calls and address unsafe conditions immediately.
